Railways says only follow NTES app or web to track trains

With train operations going back to the regular timetable from the monsoon timetable on the Konkan Railway network from November 1, many commuters have reportedly missed their trains in Mangaluru and other areas after following some unauthorized railway information app.

The Palakkad Division of Southern Railway said in a release here on Wednesday that passengers should check the updated timings with the National Train Inquiry System (NTES) either through its app or online or through Rail Madad helpline at 139.

It urged passengers not to fall prey to unauthorized apps that still show monsoon timings of trains running on the KRCL network.

Citing examples, sources said that 25 passengers could not board the train number 12432 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Central Rajdhani Express, which left Mangaluru Junction at 12.10 pm on Wednesday as per the normal timetable.

Passengers had followed some unofficial apps which were still showing the departure time of monsoon at 2.15 pm
