Rain wreaks havoc in Hyderabad

The automatic weather station installed near Vittalwadi area of ​​Himayatnagar recorded the highest temperature of around eight centimetres, followed by Khajaguda Sports Complex in Gachibowli at 7.4 centimetres. East Anandbagh received close to seven cm of rain, followed by Chilakalguda with 6.5 cm.

Areas like Amberpet, Shaikpet, Nampally, Serilingampally, Secunderabad, Uppal and Nampally recorded about six centimeters of rain.

Electric poles were uprooted and trees fell on power lines causing power cuts in a large number of areas, some of which remained without power till evening.

Heavy traffic jams in Secunderabad, Narayanguda, Ameerpet Panjagutta, Balanagar, Trimulgherry, Moosapet, Chaderghat, Khairatabad and other areas left roads everywhere submerged. Pedestrians faced the most trouble while wading through waterlogged roads, open manholes and drains.
