Madrid: A day after a volcano erupted on Spain’s La Palma island, a torrent of lava destroyed nearly 100 homes, forcing thousands to move out of their homes. Local officials gave this information on Monday.
“We have now evacuated 5,000 people and about 100 homes have been destroyed,” said Lorena Hernandez Labrador, the local councilor responsible for public safety.
