Jaipur: On average 65 percent voting was recorded in the by-elections Dhariyawadi And Vallabhnagar assembly constituency of Rajasthan Rajasthan Till 5 pm on Saturday evening.
Voting will end at 6 pm.
Officials said that 65.39 in Dhariawad (Pratapgarh) and 64.95 in Vallabhnagar seat till 5 pm.
Voting for the bypolls to the two assembly constituencies began at 7 am amid tight security arrangements to decide the fate of 16 candidates.
By-election had to be held due to the death of Congress MLA from Vallabhnagar Gajendra Singh Shaktawat and BJP MLA from Dhariawad Gautam Lal Meena.
A total of 5,11,455 voters – 2,53,831 in Vallabhnagar and 2,57,624 in Dhariyawad – will be able to exercise their franchise.
Nine candidates are in the fray from Vallabhnagar seat and seven from Dhariyawad.
A 100-year-old woman also cast her vote at a polling booth in Bhinder area of ​​Vallabhnagar constituency.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that a total of 638 polling stations have been set up in the ongoing polling in both the constituencies, out of which the number of sensitive polling stations is 119.
He said that a total of 62 sensitive polling stations including 31 polling stations in Vallabhnagar and 31 polling stations in Dhariyawad are being monitored through live webcasting.
Gupta said that monitoring of live webcasting is being done at 4 levels.
A control room has been set up by the Election Department to monitor the live webcasting at the state level. Along with this, monitoring is also being done at the level of Returning Officer, District Election Officer.
This live webcasting is also being monitored by Election Commission of India, she added.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that the guidelines related to Kovid are being strictly followed even at the polling stations.
Gupta said 4,468 security personnel have been deployed in both the constituencies to ensure free, fair and peaceful polling. He said the voting is being done as per the Covid-19 guidelines.
In Vallabhnagar, the ruling Congress party has given ticket to Preeti Shaktiwat, wife of Gajendra Shaktiwat, while the BJP has fielded Himmat Singh Jhala.
Congress has fielded Nagraj Meena against BJP candidate Khet Singh Meena from Dhariawad.
In the House of 200, the ruling Congress has 106 MLAs, while the BJP has 71, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party three, CPI(M) and Bharatiya Tribal Party two each, Rashtriya Lok Dal one and 13 Independents. .
Two seats are vacant on which by-elections are being held.
