Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed confidence that Congress candidates will win the Vallabhnagar and Dhariyawad assembly seats.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed confidence that Congress candidates will win the Vallabhnagar and Dhariyawad assembly seats. The Chief Minister’s statement comes ahead of the by-elections in Rajasthan to be held later this month. Taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Gehlot on Saturday alleged that the BJP is panicking and making rhetoric as they are fourth in the Vallabhnagar bypoll.

Gehlot told reporters, “The BJP is panicking and is resorting to statements as they are fourth in the Vallabhnagar bypoll. The initial trends are in our favor in Vallabhnagar and Dhariyawad. I am sure we will win both the seats.”

The Rajasthan Chief Minister further said, “The Congress party is contesting the by-polls on the achievement of the last 2.5 years of his government.”

Further, he alleged that the BJP is using central agencies to create an atmosphere of suffocation wherever elections are held.

Gehlot said, “Wherever elections are held, they send messages to CBI, IT and ED officials to target certain people so that fear can be instilled in them. This creates an atmosphere of suffocation. PM Modi has to remove it. But it should work.”

Bypolls to the assembly seats of Vallabh Nagar and Dhariyawad will be held on October 30.

The counting of votes will take place on November 2.
