Chandana made his displeasure public through a tweet, saying that he does not want to continue in the “disgraceful” ministerial post.

Gehlot said that Chandna had organized a state-level sports event in the past as well and similarly, for the first time in Rajasthan, a similar event – ‘Rural Olympics’ – is going to be held in which 30 lakh people are expected to participate.

“There is a huge load on him. Maybe he (Chandana) got tensed and made some remarks. “It should not be taken seriously… Will talk to them,” Gehlot told reporters. The Chief Minister said that he has not spoken to the minister yet. Gehlot said, ‘It seems that he is working under pressure, such a big responsibility has come on him, will see’.

In her tweet, Chandana had said, ‘I request the honorable Chief Minister to free me from this abusive ministerial post and give the charge of all my departments to Shri Kuldeep Ranka ji. He is a minister of all departments anyway,” he tweeted in Hindi without elaboration. Ranka is the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

The development comes days ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections in Rajasthan and indicates resentment within the party. Just a week ago, Congress MLA from Dungarpur Ganesh Ghogra had sent his resignation to Gehlot in protest against the police case against him.
