Congress leader Sachin Pilot, who is keen to be active to strengthen the party in Rajasthan, met party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi on Thursday. Sources close to Pilot said that he wants to play an active role in strengthening the party in the state. But, contrary to reports, the former deputy chief minister has reiterated that he is ready to play any role the party is offered.

The meeting came amid reports that Pilot had expressed his desire to become the chief minister and he wanted to discuss the election strategy for the assembly elections to be held next year.

Talking about his meeting with Sonia Gandhi, Pilot said, “Rajasthan is a state where the government changes every five years and I think if we do the right things like we have started doing, So we need to move in that direction. So that the Congress can win the next election in Rajasthan. It is important immediately after the general elections are held.”

Pilot further said that his meeting with Sonia Gandhi was positive, and the Congress president was “very eager” to work unitedly to form the government again in Rajasthan. “I am giving him my feedback on a regular basis. Today we also talked about organizational elections, how to strengthen the party,” he said.

The meeting also comes at a time when Congress leaders deliberated on a long-term solution to develop a strategy and discussed the plan presented by election strategist Prashant Kishor. Kishor is also likely to attend the Grand Old Party by Friday.

Pilot’s meeting with Gandhi also complements his talks with the chief ministers of Congress-ruled Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh – Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel. The pilots reached Gandhi’s 10 Janpath residence in the evening.

Earlier this month, Pilot also met Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and according to sources, they were asked about the political situation in Rajasthan, ways to strengthen the party in the state, organizational polls, upcoming elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. was discussed. revival of the party.
