Rajasthan Royals owner slapped me for getting out for a duck: EX NZ batsman

former New Zealand cricketer Ross TaylorThe one who played for Rajasthan Royals in 2011 revealed shocking details where he said that the owner of RR team slapped him three or four times for getting out for a duck. The Kiwi batsman has written about the incident in his recently launched autobiography Ross Taylor: Black and White.

“Chase was 195, I was lbw for the Ducks and we didn’t come close. Afterwards, the team, support staff and management were at the bar on the top floor of the hotel. Liz Hurley was with Warney. [Shane Warne], One of the owners of the Royals said to me, ‘Ross, we didn’t pay you a million dollars to get the ducks,’ and slapped me in the face three or four times. He was laughing and they weren’t loud slaps but I’m not sure it was purely drama-acted. Under the circumstances, I wasn’t going to make it an issue, but I couldn’t imagine it happening in many professional sports environments,” Taylor wrote in his book Ross Taylor: Black and White.

Taylor last played in the IPL in 2014. He went unsold in IPL auction 2015. Taylor retired from international cricket after the end of the 2021/22 season.

“While going for a million dollars was amazing, in the long run I would have been better off if RCB had given me USD 950,000. If they had, this would have been my fourth year with them. While the IPL is quite unsatisfactory, for a long time There is loyalty to the players who serve and I probably would have had a longer IPL career as a franchise player. On the other hand, if I had stayed at RCB, I would not have played with greats like Virender Sehwag, Shane Warne, Mahela Jayawardene and Yuvraj As a lion,” he wrote.
