Rajasthan: SDM, SHO suspended a few days after the suicide of Sikar’s lawyer. Jaipur News – Times of India

Sikar : Government of Rajasthan Authorities have suspended a sub-divisional magistrate and a police officer in connection with the suicide of a lawyer here on Monday.
On June 9, a lawyer named Hansraj Mawalia (40) set himself ablaze inside the office of the sub-divisional magistrate, alleging harassment by SDM Rakesh Kumar. SHO Ghasiram Meena,
The suspension orders against the two officers were issued on Sunday following protests by a group of advocates along with the family members of the deceased. SikarPolice said that they have demanded action against those responsible for Mawalia’s death in Khandela area.
He said that soon after the incident on Thursday, Mawalia was taken to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, where he succumbed to his injuries.
He said a suicide note was recovered from Mawalia’s bag in which he had alleged that Kumar and Meena used to take bribe for him for every regular court hearing and would issue notices if the money was not paid.
In the note, the lawyer also accused the SHO of threatening him at the behest of the SDM.
With this the standoff between the family members and the administration ended and the last rites of the lawyer were performed yesterday, an official said.
