Rajasthan temple demolished by Congress to punish locals, says BJP’s Satish Poonia, as parties play blame game

After three temples, one of which was claimed to be three centuries old, were vandalized in an anti-encroachment drive in Rajgarh town of Rajasthan’s Alwar district, the state’s Congress government called for the act, a local government governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party. body has been blamed.

However, state BJP president Satish Poonia dismissed the allegation.

Talking to CNN-News18 he said, “Congress is trying to whitewash its sin. Local bodies cannot destroy like this. This is always done with the involvement of various organs of the government and administration, such as the Collector and the SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate). Congress is to blame. This is a centuries old temple. It also does not come under any encroachment law. The BJP-led board discussed encroachment but never discussed the removal of temples.

But he did not stop here. The BJP state president also made serious allegations against local Congress MLA Johri Lal Meena.

The MLA’s son has been implicated in the gang rape case. Local people are protesting. This temple has been demolished to teach a lesson to the local people.

In March 2022, a case of gang rape was registered against Meena’s son and two others.

“He has done the same in Karauli. CM Ashok Gehlot showed that he loves PFI (Popular Front of India). This has been done to demean the Hindu community and protect their minority vote bank,” Poonia said.

The Rajasthan government says it has sent a notice to the Rajgarh Municipal Council for an anti-encroachment drive, accusing the BJP of trying to create a mess.

There are allegations by Poonia and even some residents who spoke to CNN-News18 that local people have been threatened by the Congress in the past if they do not vote for the party in the local body elections against the BJP. If so, they will be taught a lesson.
