JAIPUR: Students of senior secondary classes (11-12) in government schools will study the basics of coding, programming and Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the next session.
The state’s education department is among the first few in the country to have compulsorily completed the School Curriculum Framework (SCF). new education policy ,NEP) The department has identified 25 areas of importance as part of the curriculum, making 50 hours of teacher training mandatory every year.
Spokesperson Kamalendra Singh Ranawat said, “The new curriculum has put a lot of emphasis on developing the scientific temper of the students in the schools. The previous SCF almost two decades has become redundant when it comes to topics such as environment, health and technology. Emerging issues such as climate change, rapid urbanization, and disrupting the harmony between humans and the plant kingdom will be part of the curriculum. “The revised curriculum has given impetus to the issues that were remotely touched upon in the previous SCF. The whole idea is to create public awareness on the subject so as to prepare the present generation to face the challenges that the next generation may face. Will influence the world for centuries, Ranawat said.
The concept of health in the text books will move from treatment to prevention of diseases. The students will be taught preventive methods to reduce the impact of diseases affecting the human resource of the country.
The most important aspect of the curriculum is the focus on integrating education and technology to make education more scientific and easier to understand. “The curriculum focuses on effective teaching by integrating technology with pedagogy, identifying and appropriately using various ICT tools to be used in teaching learning and assessment.” Priyanka Jodhavati, Director of RSCERT. Teachers’ training in technology and academics to become a regular feature of the academic calendar enables teachers to provide updated learning experiences to students.
By September RSCERT will submit the report to the state government which will start the work of preparing the syllabus.
