One terrorist was killed and another is likely to be injured in the ongoing operation in Rajouri.
Meanwhile, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Army’s Northern Command, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the ongoing anti-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, in which a terrorist was killed on Saturday . Five soldiers were killed in an encounter with terrorists on Friday in Kandi forests of Rajouri district.
Gunfire contact with the terrorists was again established on Saturday as the exchange of fire between the army and the hiding terrorists continued. “Northern Command at Ground Zero, Kandi is reviewing the operational status on the ongoing operations in Rajouri where contact with the militants was re-established.
“He was briefed by the ground commanders on all aspects of the operation,” the Northern Command said on its Twitter page. Updating on the progress of Saturday’s operation against terrorists in Rajouri, the Army said, “In further gunfight, 1 terrorist has been gunned down and 1 more is likely to be injured. Recoveries made so far include 1 AK56, Contains 4 mags of AK. 56 rounds of AK, 1x9mm pistol with mag, 3 grenades and 1 ammunition pouch. Identity of neutralized terrorist being ascertained. Operation underway.”
Senior officers of the army and police visited the encounter site in Rajouri on Friday.
