Addressing media briefing at AICC Headquarters on Thursday along with Congress leader Randeep Singh SurjewalaGandhi said, “The Supreme Court should take cognizance of the matter and intervene as the Ram temple in Ayodhya is being built after its order.”
Gandhi said that almost every household in the country has donated something to the Ram Mandir Trust. “Door-to-door campaigning was also done. It is a matter of devotion and it is being played with,” he said.
Gandhi also alleged that pieces of land belonging to Dalits that could not be bought were “grabbed”.
“Some pieces of land were of lesser value, but were sold to the trust at a very high price. This shows that there is a scam,” he said.
Gandhi said several BJP leaders, including government officials, are involved in the said “loot” and “scam”.
He also said at the briefing that leaders should take a moral responsibility when so many people relied on them while donating.
