The holy month of Ramzan is being celebrated with full pomp across India! This festival holds great importance for the Islamic community and is celebrated by praying to God and fasting for the whole month. This year, Ramadan 2022 began on 2 April and will end on 2 May, with Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated the next day! Devotees observe a one-day fast from sunrise to sunset known as ‘Roja’, and during this time, people abstain from all kinds of food and drink, even water. Food can be consumed only during ‘Sehri’ i.e. before sunrise and ‘Iftar’ i.e. after sunset. Keeping this in mind, we have found a quick and easy dessert recipe that can be enjoyed for ‘Sehri’ as well as ‘Iftar’ and that is Khajoor ki Kheer!

Kheer is probably the most popular Indian dessert in the cuisine! Milky, creamy and porridge-like sweets are often made with rice, but we have found a recipe that uses dates (dates) to make this dish. The best thing about this recipe is that you don’t need to add sugar to this recipe, the natural sweetness of dates is what makes this dish so delicious.

Ramadan Special: How To Make Date Kheer

First of all, roast cashews in ghee till they turn brown. Keep it aside. Heat ghee in the same pan. Add the mashed dates, making sure they do not have any seeds. Add water to the pan, and cook till the dates are soft and pulpy. Add milk and let it boil till it becomes thick. Sprinkle some cardamom powder. Add the roasted cashews to the pan and mix. Date pudding is ready!
