Rasmi Film Festival begins in Malappuram

Inaugurating the two-day festival, actor and Kerala Chalachitra Akademi Vice President Prem Kumar said that cinema should not be just an entertainer, but it should be able to lead the society towards goodness.

Manambur Rajanbabu, President of Rasmi Film Society, presided over the function. Italian painter Maximo Felucah released the festival book. Malappuram Municipal President Mujeeb Kadri and ChalChitra Academy regional coordinator Navina Subhash spoke.

A Malayalam film “Avasavyoham” directed by RK Krishna was screened immediately after the opening ceremony. Veit Helmer’s German film ‘The Bra’, ‘Tori and Likita’ directed by Jean Pierre and Luc Dardenne and Manu Kallikkad’s ‘Cut’ were screened on Saturday.

Parkchan Wook’s ‘Decision to Leave’ airs on Sundays at 10am. Alauda Ruiz de Azua’s Spanish film “Lullaby” will be screened at 2 pm, while Taifun Pirselimoglu’s “Ker” will be screened at 6 pm on Sunday.

The festival is being organized in collaboration with State Film Academy, Information and Public Relations Department, Federation of Film Societies and Malappuram Municipality.
