RCB star reveals team plan to tackle Umran Malik vs SRH cricket news

Royal Challengers Bangalore spinners Vanindu Hasranga Revealed that his team’s batsmen were looking to score big hits against the Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik on Sunday. Umran Malik conceded 25 runs in his two overs, out of which he conceded 20 runs in just one over.

“He (Umran) bowls fast and bowls a lot behind the length ball, so our batsmen were looking for him, especially on this wicket where there was no bounce. When we got 20 runs in his first over,” he said. So he put him under one. A lot of pressure. That was the plan in our batsmen’s mind,” Hasranga said in a virtual post-match press conference.

The spinner took five wickets, helping RCB bundle out SRH for 125 runs.

“I am very happy with my position in the team. As I said earlier, I am a wicket-taker so I try to take wickets in the middle overs, which keeps the opposition under pressure,” Hasranga said.

Regarding the performance of Sri Lankan players in IPL 2022, the spinner said that such tournaments will give him a homecoming experience.

“This year, five Sri Lankan players are playing in the IPL and four of us are doing really well, especially Mahesh, Chameera, me and Bhanuka. So, it is a good experience for us when we go back and in Sri Lanka. Perform,” said the spinner.

With this win, RCB have moved up to the fourth position in the points table with seven wins out of 12 matches.
