Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) defeated Churchill Brothers Football Club 1-0 in the match played on November 28 last year in Srinagar.

In the 64th minute, RKFC incorrectly called for a player substitution, but it was rectified within a minute by the club’s head coach, Maharajuddin Vaadu.

Churchill Brothers FC had approached the disciplinary committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) which held a meeting on December 23 last year and ruled in favor of RKFC.

The Disciplinary Committee concluded that based on its interpretation of the video evidence and the presentation of the match officials, the substitution had not taken place as the players had neither entered nor left the field.

As Real Kashmir FC made another substitution, allegedly to rectify their apparent mistake, the disciplinary committee also stated that ‘the substituted player enters the field only for two minutes’ and further that Churchill Brothers There was no prejudice. No goals were scored during these two minutes as F.C.” was noted by the committee.

However, the same videography evidence was termed “inconclusive” by the AIFF’s appeals committee and it directed RKFC to cancel their I-League match against Churchill Brothers besides imposing a fine of Rs 60,000 against it.

“We are left with no other chance and will approach the court for an early redressal of the AIFF order which is unfair to us in every way,” the spokesperson said.
