coconut has launched a more compact and cheaper version of its smart glasses. was dubbed coconut air specs, it is compatible with iOS and Android operating system and will begin shipping in December 2021. The price of the smart glasses is yet to be confirmed by the company, however, the company has confirmed that it will be relatively cheaper than Nreal. Light Glasses which cost around $600 (approx Rs 44,475).
As per the details of the new smart glasses from the company, the Nreal Air Glass will have some similarities with the Lite Glass that was launched last year. As for the basics, the new Neural Air Glass will feature the same micro OLED display for AR optics and will connect to the smartphone via a cable.
There will be some similarities in the design as well, just that the Air Glass will be a bit compact and lighter and look more like regular Glass.
However, the glasses on the Nreal Air will not have an external camera as is the case with the original Nreal glasses. This means the new glasses can only display apps and other content from a smartphone. Spatial awareness will not be available and this makes it suitable for wearing or using only when you are indoors.
Another cool feature of the specs of the Nreal Air is the high refresh rate support for the display. The smart glass supports 90Hz refresh rate to provide a better and more intuitive experience. They are also about 30 grams lighter than the original version.
Neural Air Glasses also come with enlarged ppd and 46-degree FOV. It can also project a display size of 130 inches.
The Verge has reported that Nereal Air Glasses will initially debut in Japan, China and South Korea, and the company plans to launch the product in more regions in 2022.
A company spokesperson told The Verge that most people use smart glasses to watch movies and shows on their smart glasses and sometimes browse the web.
If that is the case then for the users coconut air glasses seem to be a viable option. Give them what they want and need. While there are many smart glasses available, Nreal’s take on air glasses appeal to a wider audience.
