REET 2021 paper leak: Rajasthan Police arrests main accused of Uttarakhand

Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) team on Sunday arrested two people, including main accused Batti Lal, from Kedarnath in Uttarakhand in the REET 2021 fraud case.

According to the Rajasthan Police, the search was on for the arrested people for the last three days.

Last month, the Rajasthan government suspended one RAS and two RPS officers along with 13 teachers, education department staff and three police personnel on suspicion of being involved in cheating in REET 2021.

It is noteworthy that for the first time in the history of Rajasthan, such a number of administrative and police officers and teachers have been suspended due to illegal and suspicious activities in the work of the state.

Earlier, Rajasthan Police had arrested five people for allegedly selling Bluetooth devices priced at ‘slippers’ 6 lakh to the candidates who appeared in the examination conducted to select government school teachers in the state, officials said.

The incident came to light when Ganesh Ram Dhaka (28), a candidate who reached Acharya Shri Dharma Sagar Digambar Jain Secondary Medium School Center for REET, was found wearing slippers equipped with Bluetooth.

According to the police, officers posted at the center found a wireless earphone in Dhaka’s ear. On interrogation, he confessed to hiding the mobile phone and Bluetooth device in his shoes. Dhaka confesses that he had bought the pair of shoes from a Tuljaram Jat in Bikaner 2.50 lakhs.

The Bikaner police identified the gang members – Madanlal, Trilokchand, Omprakash, Gopal Krishna and Kiran. Ajmer police arrested Dhaka and Tuljaram Jat is absconding.

Ahead of the highly competitive REET, the Rajasthan government suspended internet and mobile services from 6 am to 6 pm on September 26 in Ajmer, Alwar, Dausa, Jhunjhunu and Jaipur rural districts to prevent fraud.
