Reliance General Insurance to participate in PMFBY policy distribution drive

New Delhi: Reliance General Insurance Company Limited has announced its participation in the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Abhiyan-India@75’ crop insurance policy distribution mega drive across the country – ‘Meri Policy Mere Haath’. .

For this, special camps have been organized at Gram Panchayat/Village level to educate the farmers enrolled with Reliance General Insurance under PMFBY about their existing crop insurance policies. Farmers will get direct information, details of their insurance like sum insured, type of crops insured and premium amount.

The company will also distribute physical documents of existing policies to the farmers. Having these documents will ensure hassle free claim settlement for the farmers in future. The initiative will provide a platform for farmers to share feedback, queries and complaints directly with the insurer.

Rakesh Jain, CEO, Reliance General Insurance, said, “We welcome this initiative and extend our broad support to this extraordinary campaign. Agriculture provides livelihood to nearly 60% of our population. However, the risks of natural calamities, heavy rains, etc. Fields, pests, and diseases make agriculture a highly volatile sector… The ‘Meri Niti Mere Haath’ initiative takes the government’s effort a step further, by empowering farmers through crop insurance awareness and farmers’ doorsteps.
