Reliance Jio on Thursday began beta testing 5G services in three other cities- Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi as well as in the national capital, with users getting download speeds of over 1Gbps.
In Chanakyapuri of Lutyens’ Zone, New Delhi, users got internet speed of more than 1Gbps.
During testing, the company said, “Now 5G Services will be available on an invitation only basis.”
According to the company, gradually people will start getting 5G signals across the city in a phased manner.

A user from Delhi said that he is satisfied with the 5G speed being offered. “Internet speed on 5G is a welcome change 4G And it should be made available soon,” said Rajesh, a user in Delhi.
He added that a lot of users, both business and students, were added to the internet base during the pandemic period and that 5G services would help such people and businesses.
according to an official Statement Released by Reliance Jio on October 4, the Jio True 5G welcome offer is being launched by invitation for Jio users in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi.
These customers will get unlimited 5G data with 1Gbps+ speed. Beta testing service for other cities will be announced progressively as cities continue to prepare.
Users will continue to take advantage of this beta test until the network coverage of a city is sufficiently complete to provide the best coverage and user experience to every customer.
Invited ‘Jio Welcome Offer’ users will automatically upgrade to Jio True 5G service without the need to replace their existing Jio SIM or 5G handset. Jio is also working with all handset brands to enable their 5G handsets to work seamlessly with Jio True 5G services so that customers have the widest range of 5G devices to choose from.
