In his first major announcement as the head of Reliance Jio, Chairman Akash Ambani on Saturday announced the launch of 5G-enabled Wi-Fi service at Rajasthan’s famous Shrinathji temple at Nathdwara near Rajsamand. The company said the services will be expanded to other public places such as railway stations and educational institutions.

From today, along with Nathdwara, Chennai is also going to have 5G services,” said Akash Ambani, adding, “As stated earlier, 5G will no longer be an exclusive service for the privileged few or those in our largest cities.” could. He said: “Today, we have operationalized the first True5G-enabled Wi-Fi service in the holy city of Nathdwara and the temple of Lord Shrinathji. With this, we will empower many more such places and allow them to test our services. Furthermore, we welcome Chennai as our latest city to join the Jio True5G welcome offer.”
Under the offer, invite-only customers will get access to 5G service during beta testing and will be able to access unlimited 5G data at up to 1 gigabit per second.
The company said it is launching “JioTrue5G-powered Wi-Fi services” in high footfall areas such as educational institutions, religious places, railway stations, bus stands, commercial centers and other places.
Reliance Jio plans to cover the entire country with 5G services by December 2023 and has also launched 5G-enabled Wi-Fi services.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani had visited the temple last month and promised to start services from the temple in the state. In 2015 also, Mukesh Ambani visited Shrinathji temple before the launch of 4G services.
