Reliance partners with luxury brand Balenciaga to launch it in India

Reliance will be Balenciaga’s only Indian partner to launch the brand in the country.

Mumbai (Maharashtra):

Reliance Brands Ltd on Thursday said it has signed a strategic agreement with global luxury brand Balenciaga to bring the best of global clothing to the Indian market.

With this long-term franchise agreement, Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) will be the only Indian partner of Balenciaga to launch the brand in the country. This is Reliance Brands’ second partnership deal with Kering Group, which has Balenciaga.

Founded in 1917 by Spanish-born Cristobal Balenciaga and established in Paris in 1937, Balenciaga’s original home defined modern couture with its many innovations to form and technique. Since his appointment as artistic director in 2015, Demna has continued to uphold Balenciaga’s vision through boundary-pushing collections, which include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories and objets d’art. Huh.

“Few brands have really embraced the opportunity for creative reinterpretation and reinvention like Balenciaga. Their advanced and ingenious creations, bold use of logos, and a resulting cult following in the fashion industry have already gained a strong foothold around the world, Darshan Mehta, Managing Director, Reliance Brands Limited said in a statement.

Mehta said, “This is the most opportune time to introduce the brand to the country as Indian luxury customers have matured and are using fashion as a creative expression of their personality.”

Reliance Brands Limited said in a statement that Balenciaga’s unprecedented interaction with the expansion of the digital space, physical growth and today’s social responsibilities puts it at the forefront of modernity.
