Religious leader Naushad Suralpadi and his driver died in a road accident

Social activist and religious leader Naushad Haji Suralpadi (Abdul Hameed Naushad), 44, and his driver Mohd Musharraf, 21, died on the spot when the car driven by the latter collided head-on with a private bus in Belthangady traffic police limits. There was a collision in front. on Sunday morning.

According to complainant Naveen Monis, the accident took place at Mugeradaka in Gardadi village of Belthangady taluk on the Venur-Guruvayanakere road. Musharraf was going from Venur to Guruvayankere with Naushad at the time of the incident.

The car collided with the bus at Mugeradaka around 9.20 am. The injured were taken to the hospital where they were declared brought dead. Belthangady traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.

Naushad was the President of the Dakshina Kannada Madrasa Management Committee and was involved in many social work activities. Nande Pengal, an association founded by him, was involved in facilitating the marriage of poor Muslim women.
