Kajol revealed on The Big Picture that her hairband was actually used for her wing in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Kajol made special guest appearances on Karan Johar and the actress in the finale episode of The Big Picture, which will air later this week.
The iconic lines from ‘Pyaar Dosti Hai’ (Love is Friendship), Karan Johar’s debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, inspired many Bollywood films in later years. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kajol in lead roles, the film not only redefined love in Bollywood movies but also set several fashion trends. Be it Shah Rukh’s ‘cool’ neck chain, friendship band or Kajol’s headband, everything about KKHH became immensely popular among fans back then. But did you know that the iconic headband used by Kajol’s character Anjali in the first half of the film was actually a fix for her wig.
According to a report in TOI, Karan made the revelation in the yet-to-be-aired episode of The Big Picture, a reality show hosted by Ranveer Singh. Karan, who appeared in the episode with Kajol, revealed that the actor’s character Anjali should not have been wearing a headband initially. However, there were some issues with Kajol’s wig and she had to use a headband to maintain her look. The casual headband experiment became a style statement.
In one of the promos released by Shoemakers, Karan got emotional after watching a video of his late father, producer Yash Johar, on the big screen. In the video, Johar Sr was seen talking about the tagline given by Karan to Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which was the best gift he has ever received.
The clip also features Karan and Kajol from their iconic films. The trio of Karan, Kajol and Ranveer were seen shaking legs together on bangles from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Yeh Ladki Hai Deewani and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
The finale episode of Big Picture, with Karan and Kajol as special guests, will air later this week.
