Report shows 36 percent of Google Pixel owners want to switch to another brand

The popularity of Google Pixel devices has dropped significantly globally over the past few years and 36 percent of Pixel owners are willing to switch to another brand, a new report showed on Wednesday.

According to an analysis by the trading platform, Google’s latest smartphone models, despite mostly positive reviews, seem to have a tough time keeping up with their competitors in terms of customer experience.

“Also, Google and its Pixel phones enjoyed popularity for at least the first few generations, but not any more,” said Edith Reeds of the trading platform.

Recently, consumers have reported a number of bugs and other concerns with their new Pixel devices.

Additionally, some analysts believe that the problems are due to hardware issues that plague many Pixel owners, not to mention that it had the shortest lifespan.

“For the first time, the Pixel 6 series has a fingerprint scanner integrated into the display. Unfortunately, as a result, many people find that the fingerprint sensor on their Pixel 6 is slow or not working,” the report noted.

Some Pixel owners are having trouble charging their devices.

“Charge times for Pixel devices are slower than planned for other brands. The more serious problem is that some third party chargers and cords seem to be incompatible,” the report noted.

The fact that Google doesn’t offer a charger is even more worrying. It’s possible that chargers that use a USB-A to USB-C cord may not work as well.

“The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro displays are great when they’re working. However, users have reported several flaws in the phone’s display.”

“Google must come up with a better solution to deal with the software bug present in Pixel phones. Google should also initiate quality control processes and ensure timely support to its users. And finally, it should include a more user-friendly interface,” the report mentioned.

Google is all set to bring its Pixel 6a smartphone to India after a gap of almost two years.

The recently launched Pixel 6a is coming soon to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, UK and US.
