In the presence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Party’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, Rajya Sabha member and BJP’s chief spokesperson Anil Baluni, Anil Antony joined the party at the BJP headquarters.
Soon after joining the BJP, Antony targeted the Congress and said that his dharma was to work for the nation and not work for a family.
Quoting the popular Sanskrit verse ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah’, he said, “Nowadays Congress registers and candidates feel that their dharma is to work for a family. My religion is to work for the nation.
Appreciating the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Antony said that he has a clear vision to make a developed nation and it is his duty to contribute towards it.
Anil had resigned from all the posts of the Congress party in the month of January this year. He heads the digital media department of the Kerala unit of the Congress.
Welcoming Anil to the BJP, Goyal described him as a “grassroots political worker” and said he agreed that the BJP cares for the country. He said that he also agreed with the Prime Minister’s vision of sustainable development.
Asked whether he had consulted his father before joining the BJP, Anil said, “It is not about the person, it is about the idea and difference of opinion. I firmly believe that I have taken the right step. My respect for my father will remain the same.
In a dangerous practice, Anil claimed that the idea of an Indian settlement based on British Broadcasting Companies (BBC) documents on the 2002 pogroms in Gujarat would impinge on the country’s sovereignty.
After this reaction, he was facing criticism in the Congress. After this he resigned from all his posts in the party.
It is noteworthy that Kentney is a senior Congress leader and he is eyeing important posts like the Defense Minister of the Central Government.
