The marque has revealed that the Specter has run Rolls-Royce through the most detailed testing program ever to be ready for the most demanding buyers in the world. Specter is being subjected to a journey of more than 2.5 million kilometres, which will be completed in 2023.
Rolls-Royce is calling the Specter an ‘ultra-luxury electric super coupe,’ and promises it’s as good as an EV can get. The electric car will serve as the successor to the Phantom Coupe. Talking about the design of the Specter, BMW’s influence is clearly visible on the front-end with its split headlamp design, which takes inspiration from the latest 7-series as well as the i7.
The manufacturer has decided to retain its signature grille, which features a dual-tone design – the unmistakable Rolls-Royce in the car. The rear is no different, and if we go design-wise, it’s pretty hard to tell that the Specter is actually an EV. However, the 23-inch alloy wheel design, which is the biggest ever offered on a Rolls-Royce car, gives it away.
For any Rolls Royce vehicle, the interior can be customized with an infinite number of bespoke options. The manufacturer has revealed that the power, acceleration and range figures are still being “refined”, however, we have estimate numbers. As per the WLTP test cycle, the Specter is expected to have a full-electric range of around 520 km. The electric motor is expected to produce around 577 horsepower and 900 Nm of peak torque. It will help powerful lightning Rolls Accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
Rolls-Royce has revealed that bookings for the Specter are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin in the last quarter of next year. In terms of price, the Specter EV will be positioned between the Cullinan and the Phantom.
