Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have a couple of captains in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 – Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. It was a special day for both the captains on Monday as their wives – Imari Visser and Anushka Sharma – are celebrating their birthdays ahead of the IPL 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
While the South African Visser is celebrating his 36th birthday on May 1, Bollywood star and Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma is turning 35. RCB on Monday shared a message on social media wishing both Anushka and Imari Visser.
“Many many happy returns of the day to @AnushkaSharma and Imari, the pillars of strength of our captains! An RCB win as your birthday present won’t go bad, we think,” tweeted RCB on Monday.

Kohli has been leading RCB in the last few matches in IPL 2023, with regular skipper du Plessis out injured and playing only as an ‘impact player’. Kohli had relinquished the captaincy of RCB after the IPL 2021 season after which du Plessis was announced as the skipper last season.
However, the former South African skipper is the highest run-getter for RCB in IPL 2023 so far with 422 runs from 8 matches, while Kohli is the second-highest scorer so far with 333 runs from 8 matches.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in December 2017. Anushka and Virat reportedly first met in 2013 while shooting for a shampoo advertisement. The couple has a daughter – Vamika – together.
Faf du Plessis married his longtime girlfriend, Imari Visser in 2013. On November 23, the two made it official and took their relationship a notch higher. The wedding ceremony was held at the Klein Zalz Wine Estate, close to Cape Town.
Imari Visser is a Marketing Manager by profession, who works for Nimu Skin Technology, a leading South African beauty company. Faf du Plessis and Imari Visser have a daughter – Zoey – together.
During this, RCB will be up against the KL Rahul-led LSG in match no. 43 of IPL 2023 Monday night. LSG are currently on the 2nd spot in the IPL 2023 points table with 10 points from 8 matches so far while RCB are 6th on the table with 8 points from 8 matches.
LSG and RCB have met once before in IPL 2023, with the Lucknow side coming out on top by 1 wicket in Bengaluru.
