In a notification, the ministry said, “Ministry of Railways has constituted a committee to examine the concerns of the candidates of CEN 01/2019 (Non-Technical) vide Order No. ERB-I/2022/23/06 dated 26.01.2022.” Popular Categories) and CEN RRC-01/2019 (Level-1).”

With the shortlisting of unique candidates 20 times as per pay level for the second stage Computer Based Test (CBT), the candidates who have already been declared qualified will also continue to be eligible.

Other recommendations

The list of additional candidates to be shortlisted will be notified at each pay level.

RRB wise 2nd stage CBT for each pay level with all the candidates of one RRB adjusted in a single shift which should eliminate normalization. Where single shift is not possible due to capacity constraints or other reasons, then percentile based normalization will be done.

CEN RRC-01/2019 (Level-1) will be a single stage examination. There will be no second stage CBT.

RRC wise CBT will be conducted for Level-1. It is also recommended to reduce the number of shifts involved for each RRC and utilize the maximum available capacity to speed up the examination process.

Percentage based normalization, which is simple and easy to understand, will be used where the number of shifts involved is more than one.

The medical standards prescribed in the Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) will be used for various Level-1 posts.

Any available income and asset certificate will be considered valid for candidates applying under Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

Schedule of CEN 01/2019 (NTPC) and CEN RRC-01/2019 (Level-1) (tentative)

Revised result for all pay levels to be announced by 1st week of April, 2022.

Phase II CBT for Pay Level 6 will be conducted in May, 2022.

The second stage CBT for other pay levels will be conducted after giving appropriate intervals.

Due to the elimination of Phase II CBT etc., it has been decided to follow the revised methodology with special conditions for conducting CBT for Level-1.

This will involve mobilization of additional infrastructure and logistics for conducting CBT for Level-1 with a significant increase in the requirement per shift. Efforts will be made to keep the Examination Conducting Agency (ECA) on board to conduct the CBT for Level-1 at the earliest.

Hence, the CBT for Level-1 is planned to be conducted tentatively from July 2022.
