Out of 11 bids for the Olympic bronze-winning pair of gloves from Lovlina Borgohain, the highest was Rs 1.92 crore till Friday evening, while the base price stood at Rs 80 lakh.

New Delhi: The e-auction of souvenirs gifted to PM Narendra Modi on the occasion of his birthday received an overwhelming response with bids worth over Rs 10 crore on the very first day, with 19 days left to go.
The items that attracted the highest bids were recently gifted to the Prime Minister by Olympic champions. Out of the 11 bids for the Olympic bronze medalist pairing of women’s boxer Lovlina Borgohain, the highest bid of Rs 1.92 crore against a base price of Rs 80 lakh till Friday evening. The next highest bid was for Neeraj Chopra’s gold-winning javelin – Rs 1.55 crore against a base price of Rs 1 crore.
Paralympic gold winner and world record holder Sumit Antil’s javelin bid, with a base price of Rs 1 crore, was not far behind Chopra’s highest of the seven bids at Rs 1,00,08,000. The next highest bid was Rs 1,00,00,100 for women’s hockey captain Rani Rampal’s stick, while her team finished fourth with a base price of Rs 80 lakh. The proceeds from the auction will go to the “Namami Gange” project.
The day was observed by the BJP and the PM’s followers as “Seva Samarpan” – 20 years of good governance – including Modi’s tenure as Gujarat CM. Sources said that the entire focus is on “Amrit Prayas”, in which initiatives are being taken to make the country “self-reliant”.
BJP President JP Nadda launched a campaign under which trained workers were deployed to reach the vaccination centers and ensure that the first dose of the vaccine is given to the maximum possible number of people.
BJP ruled states launched dedicated campaigns and welfare schemes. A virtual exhibition of achievements of PM Modi as the PM of the country was displayed on the NaMo App. President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and senior leaders across party lines congratulated the PM.
