No need to do. Banks.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday announced Rs 2,000 note , introduced after demonetisation , will be closed.

It ordered banks to stop issuing high denomination notes into circulation and urged people to either exchange their notes or deposit them at banks and RBI offices. The deadline for exchange and deposit in banks was set at September 30, 2023.

The RBI, neither in its announcement nor in the attached FAQ document, specified what would happen to Rs 2,000 notes after September 30.
