Mangaluru: Phase 3 master plan for various development work Feather Kukke Subrahmanya Temple has been finalized, and the proposal will be placed before the cabinet for approval, said Minister of Muzrai, Hajj and Waqf Sasikala Jolie,
In a review meeting held at the temple on Tuesday in the presence of Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport Minister S Angara and Deputy Commissioner KV Rajendra, Jole said a master plan has been prepared to take up various development works at an estimated cost of Rs. 300 million. He said that the work will start after getting the approval from the cabinet.
In-principle approval has been given by the temple to set up a gaushala in 100 acres. The minister said that a gaushala would be set up on the forest department’s land near the bathing ghat of the temple without cutting trees and directed the officials to prepare a detailed project report for the same.
The minister stressed that all A and B grade temples in the state submit an audit report every year. “In the last few years, only four temples have submitted audit reports. The executive officers of the temple have been given notice to submit the audit report. The temple has also not given the audit report for 2012-13. After giving the notice, the temples have submitted the audit report for three years. All pending audit reports should be submitted by March 31,” she said.
He said that more emphasis should be given on disposal of all pending court cases so that development works can be expedited.
On Ashlesha Bali and Sarpa Sanskar Seva at Kukke Temple, the minister said there is a need to increase the slots to allow more devotees to perform the rituals.
The minister said that a proposal has been sent to the government to appoint 60 home guards for the security of the temple and she will talk to the Home Minister in this regard.
He said, ‘All development work should be done keeping in mind the next 35 years. There is a need to preserve the greenery around the temple. Under the Daiva Sankalp Yojana, extensive development projects have been taken up in 25 temples in the state, to provide more infrastructure for the devotees,” the minister said.

Shashikala Jole offers Ashlesha Bali Seva at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple. During an official visit to the temple, the minister offered seva and received prasad from priest T Ramesh Noorithya. He also visited the Hosaligamma temple of the temple.
The Minister appreciated the crop improvement scheme of Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple Committee and participated in the campaign by planting a sapling of ‘Naga Sampge’ in the temple premises. After holding an official review meeting, the minister took part in the mahapuja and had prasad bhojan (midday meal) at the temple.
