Russia should take NATO nuclear capability into account: Putin tells state TV

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on 26 February that Russia had no choice but to draw attention to NATO’s nuclear capabilities as the US-led military alliance was seeking Russia’s defeat.

“In today’s conditions, when all major NATO countries have declared their main goal as a strategic defeat on us, so that our people suffer as they say, how can we ignore their nuclear capabilities in these conditions Are?” Mr. Putin told rosea 1 according to state television TASS,

The West, Mr. Putin said, wanted to eliminate Russia.

“They have one goal: to dissolve the former Soviet Union and its fundamental part – the Russian Federation,” Mr Putin said, according to TASS,

The West, he said, was an indirect accomplice to “crimes” committed by Ukraine.
