The committee will be headed by senior Akali leader Sikandar Singh Maluka. The other members are Sharjat Singh Dhillon, Virsa Singh Waltoha, Mantar Singh Brar and Dr Sukhwinder Sukhi, according to a statement by the SAD.

Badal appealed to all the party members to use only the party platform for free and democratic expression of their views keeping in mind the lofty traditions of the party. “Every idea to strengthen the party will be heard, respected and considered with utmost sincerity and seriousness within the parameters of the party platform, as has been a time-tested exercise in the party,” the SAD statement said.

Badal said the views on the internal affairs of the party should not be circulated elsewhere. Badal said there is no place for any activity providing material to the party, the ‘sect’ and the enemies of Punjab.
