Samsung working on Galaxy Watch with built-in projector: Report

New Delhi: Tech giant Samsung is reportedly working on a Galaxy Watch that will come equipped with a built-in projector. The tech giant has filed a patent related to a smartwatch that mentions “a projection display on one side of the housing and configured to display information on a display area adjacent to the housing”, reports Sam Mobile.

This may indicate that the Galaxy Watch’s projector may mirror the main screen onto an adjacent surface. The filing further states that “the projection display may display information that is different from the information displayed on the display module.”

The diagrams on the patent also show multiple lenses and LEDs aligned in two rows that are expected to allow undistorted projection of the image via a built-in projector on the watch.

However, users may need to keep their wrists completely straight for the image to display properly.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Samsung Electronics and Natural Cycles announced a partnership to bring advanced temperature-based menstrual cycle tracking capabilities to the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

New skin temperature-based cycle tracking capabilities will be available on the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro in 32 markets in the second quarter. Features are yet to be announced for the Indian market.
