This is Sathiyan’s second win over a top 10 player in the world.
Earlier, Sathiyan had defeated former World No. 5 Tomakazu Harimoto of Japan during the 2019 Asian Championships.
Sathiyan is part of Indian table tennis Teams for the upcoming 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, which are to begin on 28 July.
