Saurashtra University BBA, BCom paper leak, exam postponed

Saurashtra University has reported the leak of BBA Semester-5 Direct Taxes and BCom Semester-5 Auditing and Corporate Governance question papers.

The leakage was reported on Wednesday. A criminal case has been registered at Bhaktinagar police station.

The university examiner postponed both the exams and reset the new question papers overnight, which were forwarded to the principal of the exam centre.

University’s Acting Controller of Examinations Nilesh Soni told local media that the auditing and corporate governance examinations of BBA Semester-5 Direct Taxes and BCom Semester-5 were to be held on Thursday.

However, on Wednesday midnight, when he got information about the paper leak, he took the university team to all the examination centers and asked them to take back the paper in a sealed cover. After confirming the leak from the university’s paper, a criminal complaint has been lodged, as well as an internal investigation into the leak has been started.

Around 12,000 students are taking the exam, the BBA reset paper was sent to the college principal in the night itself, the new date for the BCom exam will be announced soon, Soni said.

Vice-Chancellor Girish Bhimani alleged that anti-social elements were behind the paper leak with an intention to malign the image of the university. The university will take strict action against the college from which the paper has been leaked.
