SC appoints former Punjab and Haryana HC judge to oversee Lakhimpur Kheri violence case

The Supreme Court has appointed a former judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to oversee the incident of Lakhimpur violence, in which eight people, including four farmers, lost their lives.

The Supreme Court has appointed former Punjab and Haryana High Court judge Rakesh Kumar Jain to oversee the Lakhimpur violence incident in which eight people, including four farmers, lost their lives.

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ramana said that Rakesh Jain will supervise the investigation to ensure transparency and fairness.

After the filing of the charge sheet in the case, the hearing of the Lakhimpur Kheri case was held in the Supreme Court.
