Chitralekha K, District Secretary of Primary and High School Guest Teachers Association, Dakshina Kannada, told reporters on Tuesday that guest teachers are working in the district since 2010. “There are 30,000 guest teachers across Karnataka. This year, the state government increased his salary from Rs 7,500 to Rs 10,000, which was long overdue. We started working in schools from the beginning of the academic year on 15th May.
