Science 20 conference as part of G20 being held in Puducherry

The Science 20 conference, a part of the G20 summit, is currently happening in Puducherry. More than 75 participants from G20 member states as well as friendly countries such as India, China and the United States are participating. The conference revolves around three key themes including the fusion of science and society/culture to promote global comprehensive health, clean energy for a more sustainable future and execute science-driven solutions.

The Science 20 conference is a part of the two-day G20 summit starting on Monday in Puducherry. It has brought together a delegation of 75 representatives from G20 member states and friendly countries, including India. ChinaThe weturkey, SwedenSouth Korea, Australia, Brazil, France, Indonesia, European Union and England.

The summit began with speeches from last year’s G20 host Indonesia, this year’s chair India and next year’s chair Brazil. The event focuses on three central themes, namely global health and well-being, adopting clean energy for a green future, and the integration of science, society, and culture to drive science-based solutions.

A prohibitory order under section 144 has been issued in the vicinity of hotels, airports and conference facilities used by foreign delegations. The conference venue is surrounded by five tiers of police security.

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday announced that India’s G20 chairmanship will host over 200 meetings.

The BJP leader made the announcement at the first meeting of the International Financial Architecture Working Group (IFAWG) in Chandigarh.

During the event, Agriculture Minister Tomar expressed pride and happiness that India is hosting events as part of its G20 chairmanship. He said that there will be more than 200 meetings in more than 50 locations across the country and around 200,000 delegates are expected to participate.
