American singer Selena Gomez recently revealed that she may never get pregnant due to her bipolar disorder. Ms Gomez talks about her experiences with her mental illness after being diagnosed in 2018 Rolling stoneShe explained how she was tired of having to “make friends” with her bipolar disorder, despite the effects it had on her hopes of becoming a mother.

The 30-year-old recalled a time when she had gone to visit a friend who was trying to get pregnant. She revealed that she cried in her car after their trip because she learned that the two medications she was taking for her bipolar disorder made it unlikely she would be able to carry her children.

“It’s a very big, big, present thing in my life,” she said, according to Rolling stone, “However, I am to get them, I will,” Ms. Gomez said.

Other than this, ‘only murders in the buildingThe star detailed an “episode of psychosis” she experienced in 2018 when she began hearing loud noises. She spent several months in a treatment facility, however, she said she only remembered fractions of that time.

After her diagnosis, Ms Gomez said she was given several medications, which made her feel “gone”. “There was no part of me that was there now,” she said.

She ended up finding a psychiatrist, who then realized she was on too many drugs and took her off all except two. “He really guided me. But I had to essentially detox from the drugs I was on. I had to learn to remember certain words. I’d forget where I was when we were talking. It took me a lot of effort to accept that I was bipolar, but learn how to deal with it because it wasn’t going to go away,” Ms. Gomez told the outlet.

Notably, in 2020, Ms Gomez publicly revealed that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She admitted at the time that she found out she was bipolar during a hospital visit in Boston, United States.

Bipolar disorder is a serious mental health condition where people experience mood swings, with episodes of hyperactivity and depression.
