Sensex rises 777 points as realty, auto stocks shine; Nifty closes at 17,200 – Times of India

New Delhi: Equity indices jumped on Tuesday with the benchmark BSE Sensex rising over 750 points on gains in power, auto and realty stocks.
The 30-share BSE index closed 777 points or 1.37 per cent higher at 57,357; While the broader NSE Nifty rose 247 points or 1.46 per cent to end at 17,201.
Power Grid, Titan, M&M, IndusInd Bank and Bajaj Finance were the top gainers in the Sensex pack, rising up to 3.93 per cent.
Axis Bank, Asian Paints, Maruti and TCS were the only stocks to end in the red.
On the NSE platform, all sub-indices ended in the green with Nifty Realty, auto and PSU banks rising 3.57 per cent.
“We are witnessing a phase of consolidation, our fundamentals have not changed and we will largely react in line with global stocks. Hence, we are seeing a rebound,” Ajit Mishra, Vice President, Research, Religare Broking, told Reuters news agency. Huh.”
European markets were also trading in the green in the afternoon session.
Shares in the US closed with gains on Monday.
Foreign institutional investors continued selling shares worth a net Rs 3,302.85 crore on Monday, according to stock exchange data.
