Seven students of Christian Medical College suspended in ragging case

Seven senior MBBS students of the prestigious Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore were suspended by the college management after they were ragged by junior students.

An MBBS first year student had shared a video in which he and his other batch mates were made victims of ragging by seniors. The video, which went viral, shows juniors kneeling in the mud outside the college hostel and sprinkling water on them with a hose.

Junior students were asked to do some physical activity in the mud while they were also being sprayed with water.

A junior student who was a victim of ragging told media persons in Vellore, Tamil Nadu that she was physically and sexually abused.

The post of MBBS first year student was tweeted by a doctor and it went viral after which the management took action against the senior students.

Seven senior students were suspended from the college and the management has started further investigation into their activities.
