At Solapur Mango Festival, each mango from Dattatreya Gadge’s farm weighs over 2.5 kg

While it is usually political issues in Maharashtra that always go back to former chief minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, this time it is a common one. Yes, mangoes are the lifeline of the state. Solapur farmer Dattatreya Gadge hit the headlines for giving a political name to a mango weighing over two kilograms. This has prompted curious customers to hold them in their hands for a quick photo.

Why NCP chief Sharad Pawar in particular?

The Phalbagh scheme was started by Pawar when he was the chief minister of the state. In this scheme, about 7000 kesar mango trees were planted on 8 acres of agricultural land. Gadge explained how ‘Sharad Aam’ has become one of the most popular mangoes during the ongoing festival essentially because of its weight and name. He also told how it becomes mango.

They named 2.5 kg of mangoes after Pawar to honor his efforts.

Autumn mangoes come from the garden of Gadge in the famous mango festival of Solapur. As a result of extensive research conducted by Rajendra Pawar of Baramati Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Baramati Krishi Vikas Trust, Gadge explained to festival-goers how he used various homeopathic medicines to successfully produce huge mangoes on trees.
