Shinzo Abe death: Chinese ‘celebrating’ shooting, call attacker ‘hero’ – Times of India

The post was shared on the Twitter handle of Badiucao – a Chinese political cartoonist, artist and rights activist based in Australia.
He shared several screenshots of various Chinese social media accounts, apparently celebrating the attack on the former PM.
A screenshot shared by him shows that China is campaigning for Abe’s death from its user.
Another WeChat user said that “I hope this is the current Japanese PM shot) … and Korean too”

“Thanks Japan anti hero (attacker) “Can I laugh?” said one user.
“Party Time” said another from WeChat, “Hope the men trouble, hope the gun is okay” and “F*** I’m so happy”.
Meanwhile, Global Times, the leading English-language Chinese newspaper under the People’s Daily, tweeted how Abe’s supporters could seize the incident to advance a so-called anti-China agenda.

“An attack on Abe would certainly provoke the Japanese right wing. Abe’s successors and supporters could seize the event to advance their “free and open Indo-Pacific” and active participation in the Quad, and NATO’s efforts in East Asia. may facilitate admission,” Global Times quoted an expert as saying.
Another Chinese expert said an “attack on Abe could hasten a revision of the pacifist constitution, and could have an impact on foreign policy like relations with China and the United States.”
However, the Chinese government has expressed its grief over the firing incident. “China is shocked by the shooting of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo” abeextends condolences to his family”, a foreign ministry spokesman said at a daily briefing in Beijing on Friday.
