Ship sinks in Hong Kong storm, dozens of crew in danger – Times of India

HONG KONG: An industrial aid ship operating in the South China Sea has sunk in a storm, with the possible loss of more than two dozen crew members, rescue services in Hong Kong said on Saturday.
As officials sent planes and helicopters to aid in the rescue, at least three people with a crew of 30 had been evacuated by 5:30 pm (1030 GMT) on Saturday evening.

The accident happened about 300 kilometers (186 mi) south of Hong Kong.
The Flying Service did not specify the ship’s name or origin. It said in a statement that the crew members were negotiating the difficulties brought by Gambhir Tropical Storm Chabawhich was packing maximum winds of 110 kilometers (68 mi) per hour.
The storm made landfall in the western part of the coastal province of Guangdong on Saturday.
The Hong Kong Service sent two fixed-wing aircraft and four helicopters for rescue operations.
