This was the first national executive meeting that was held without a single Thackeray family member and was attended by top leaders of the Eknath Shinde camp.

The Shinde faction had dropped the designation of “party chief”, which they believed belonged to Shiv Sena supremo the late Balasaheb Thackeray.

The National Executive also unanimously passed resolutions like giving Bharat Ratna to VD Savarkar, giving status of elite language to Marathi language, giving 80 per cent jobs in the state, changing the name of Churchgate Railway.
