Both transported the teak wood to a sawmill in Sagar, where the wood was converted into wood and brought back to Shivamogga town.”
Meanwhile, a few days ago, a resident of Shettihalli reported a large amount of wood accumulating at an inaccessible place inside the wildlife sanctuary. Acting on the complaint, the forest department raided the area under consideration, and a large number of teak wood logs were found, following which DCF IM Nagaraj ordered an inquiry. “We have recovered the stock and started investigation into allegations of involvement of forest workers in the theft of teak wood,” Nagraj said.
