The daughter of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister YSR Reddy said when she tried to highlight KCR’s failures and corruption, her padyatra was “brutally attacked”.

YSR Telangana Party president YS Sharmila on Thursday challenged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to walk just three kilometers with him to know the plight of the people in the state. Her dare also included a new pair of shoes, which the leader said she would gift to KCR for the padayatra.

Sharmila alleged that the people of the state were suffering for the last nine years. “There is no section in the State which is not suffering from this tyrannical and inefficient rule. From the plight of farmers to the plight of the youth, from women’s issues to education, KCR has failed to deliver on every promise he made,” he reportedly said in Hyderabad.

His statement came just before the YRS chief embarked on the final leg of his Praja Prasthanam padayatra.

The daughter of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister YSR Reddy said when she tried to highlight KCR’s failures and corruption, her padyatra was “brutally attacked”.

After a break of two months, Sharmila is all set to resume her padyatra in Warangal district, where it was stopped by the state government.

Taking the shoe box, Sharmila challenged the Chief Minister to walk with her and promised to present him a new pair of shoes according to his size.

“Today, I challenge the Chief Minister to walk with us for the whole day and if you show us that every person in the state is happy and you have no problems to solve, I will quit politics. I am gifting this brand new pair of walking shoes. It is as per your size and there is a bill to exchange in case it does not fit,” she said.

Two months ago, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) workers allegedly set a Het bus on fire. They were arrested by the police after they refused to call off the march in view of the tense situation.

Sharmila was reportedly later transferred to Hyderabad, but was arrested again amid high drama while leading a protest march towards the official residence of the chief minister. He was also seen driving a car which was damaged in the attack and wanted to protest in front of the Chief Minister’s residence. However, the police stopped him on the way. When he refused to come out of the car, the police took him to the police station.
